Stay Health Stay Home Issue 1
Movement. Wellness. Aging in Place.
Movement. Importance of foot health.

The first sub category we listed under Movement is Foot Health and that was by design. As many of us have aged we have developed a variety of foot issues and ailments and have come to realize the effects they have on our life.
This article from the National Institute of Health illustrates some of the most common problems and how we can address them. In later issues we will feature podiatrists, physical therapists and leaders of shoe companies who will share their expertise to help us maintain healthy feet.
Wellness. Metabolic Heath.

In the Wellness category, we will spend a lot of time focusing on metabolic health and the five markers that indicate our level of metabolic health and how we can develop the daily habits necessary to achieve it and avoid many of the serious issues and illnesses that can develop.
This first article is from Johns Hopkins Medicine and focuses on metabolic syndrome. It gives us a basic understanding of metabolic syndrome/health and highlights the five markers that track whether we are healthy or not.
Given the importance of this topic, we will feature articles, interviews and videos with professionals in this field to help educate us and help us get and stay healthy.
Aging in Place. In safety and comfort at home.

This first article in the Aging in Place category is a look at some of what is needed to, as the headline indicates, age safely and comfortably at home.

Going forward, we will provide information from certified aging in place home remodelers/adapters along with information about other services and products you might need to age in safety and comfort.
”And One More Thing”

In each issue we will have an article, interview or a topic that does not fall under one of our three main categories but is relevant to a healthy, independent life.
The first article gives us an overview of breathwork and its benefits of it. As we age, many of us have come to appreciate the value of taking a few minutes each day to focus on our breath and reap the benefits of it listed here.
