Movement Wellness Aging In Place Caregivers And One More Thing

Movement

It is only mid-March but we are having some warmer days and there will be many opportunities to exercise outside coming up. WebMD lists 10 options for us to get outside and exercise, so we should be able to find one that appeals to us. Maybe something we are currently doing or have done earlier in our lives or perhaps something new, like Tai Chi. Take you time, ease into whatever you do and enjoy being active outside.

Wellness

The American Academy of Dermatology Association provides us with valuable information to keep your skin healthy in our 60’s and 70’s, both on a daily basis and, also, how to protect our skin from the sun as the seasons are changing. For those of us who have had skin issues, this is very important information. If you do not currently see a dermatologist, ask your primary care provider to refer you. It is never too late.

Aging In Place

Following up on last week’s article on Stair Lifts, here is another important way to make your home as safe as possible, walk-in showers. Stay Health Stay Home has no affiliation with this company. It is as good an assessment of walk-in showers as I have seen so I wanted to feature their article here.

Caregivers

There is a lot of information here from caregiversupportservices.com. You may be interested in following this entire program or you may want to pick and choose what you want from it. Either way, this is a great source for caregivers who are trying to stay healthy themselves while keeping their loved ones and friends healthy and in their homes.

And One More Thing

In the first article under Movement you were probably thinking, where is Pickleball? I didn’t forget about it. Here is a video by Physical Therapist Margaret Martin that will help you stay healthy so you can enjoy this great activity all year. With YouTube videos, as with the articles we post, we have no control over the ads that run with them and, of course, do not receive income from them.
