Four Types of Exercise

The National Institute on Aging provides information on four main categories of exercise, endurance, strength, balance and flexibility. There are options listed for all levels of fitness. A consistent program incorporating all four categories will contribute greatly to our ability to achieve the goal of this newsletter, to stay healthy and stay home. Contrary to what many believe, this does not take hours per day. A balanced, steady plan for 20-30 minutes per day, 4-5 days per week can go a long way to help us achieve our main goal. As the saying goes, the main thing is the main thing.
