Movement Wellness And One More Thing

If You’re Going to Master One Exercise.

Today we are sharing a YouTube video by Dr. Todd Sullivan. The video demonstrates how to safely progress to being able to do a squat. As Dr. Sullivan will explain, the squat is the most important exercise a senior can do. As usual, Stay Healthy Stay Home has no affiliation with any advertisers that might appear with the video.

HDL-Good Cholesterol

Addressing another of the five markers of metabolic health, this article by the Cleveland Clinic offers information describing HDL cholesterol, the “good” cholesterol, and how you can raise it. Many are already aware of the importance of this topic, but this can serve as a reminder for some and new information for others.

And One More Thing.

In Issue 9 we talked about the health care delivery concept of “Hospital at Home”, where acute care can be delivered in the home. Today we are going to touch on another possible trend developing in health care, Value Based Care. This is not a new concept but is being introduced for the first time in many hospitals across the US, with related payment options being approved by CMS for them. Value Based Care basically rewards health care providers for the quality and the cost of care for their patients versus the traditional fee for service method. The article attached from the Commonwealth Fund is long and gets technical at times but explains this concept pretty well in lay men’s terms. We will continue to provide information for you regarding shifts in health care delivery in the US as we come across information about them.
