Movement Movement Wellness Wellness Caregivers And One More Thing
Stretching
Stretching on a regular basis not only helps us with flexibility and agility, but also strengthens our muscles. The first video is from Meredith and it features a full body seated stretch and flexibility workout that many of us should be able to participate in. The video is a little long so maybe start out in five minute increments and increase your effort from there. You will begin to feel results in no time at all. The second link is a video from Physical Therapists Bob and Brad and is more challenging and physical. If you are not sure if you should perform these exercises, consult you health care specialist for advice. We all should consider making stretching a routine 3-5 days per week to improve our daily lives and maintain our optimal level of health.

Nutrition As We Age
This is an article with basic information regarding our nutrition as we age. Going forward, we will expand our weekly articles, videos and, soon, interviews, regarding nutrition and all other categories and sub-categories we cover at Stay Healthy Stay Home. Needs are great and there is much valuable information available and we will work to share as much of it as possible with you.

Food As Medicine
We have touched on this topic before and it is appearing more often in main stream media. This article is from a source that I normally would not use for this newsletter as it is geared towards providing information for fitness clubs. This is kind of a wide ranging article but there is a lot of information here about what food as medicine is and it’s future in our culture.

Can Family Caregivers Get Paid
This article from Care.com tells us all we need to know about possible sources for payment for providing care for a family member and how to access them. As many part time caregivers lose 25% of their income in general and full time caregivers give up their income source, this issue is becoming more pressing as our population ages.

And One More Thing
Taking a more serious tone this week with this section. As someone who has had numerous skin issues including a malignant melanoma, I thought this article would be of value to many of us who have had these issues and also to caregivers, as they care for their family members, working to keep them healthy.

As usual, Stay Healthy Stay Home has no affiliation with any advertisers you may see with articles and videos and earns no income form them.
